After many years of going through various personal trainers, my Modern Might coach was a godsend-and among the major distinctions between him and his predecessors is his ability to instill high levels of self-esteem while still incentivizing to work harder. Though many people say they train to feel better and be better, unless prescribed by a doctor, we really train to look better and help our self-image. The most difficult part of that process is the time is takes to achieve true results. The passage of that time requires persistance and incredible motivation, which is near impossible without immediate results – my coach knows how draw out that inner drive. A combination kind words, patience and great listening skills – the ability to listen to my goals, to listen to my fears and to listen to my body – separates my coach from typical gym-rat turned self-proclaimed “fitness expert”. Trainers who don’t have these skills – and they are the majority – will ALWAYS ultimately make you feel inferior and your own personal goals impossible to achieve. And if that happens, the “why bother” feeling overcomes any drive that brought you to the gym in the first place. They're called "personal" trainers for a reason -- they're there to guide you to your personal fitness goals, and to do so, they need to fit with your personality. Early on, my coach found a comfortable pace that made me feel like I was getting a great workout without discouraging me from returning for more. But one of his’ greatest qualities that put him at the top the trainer list is his ability to transcend the sterility of someone hired to help you train. Instead, even though I know he has a long list of loyal clients, he doesn’t talk or act towards me like a customer but more more like a close friend or family member who truly wants you to feel good, be good and look good for yourself and for himself all while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism. I’d write more, but I'm meeting with my coach in ten!

Five stars, best trainer ever! I’ve worked with many trainers and spent a lot of time in the gym over the course of my life – I played hockey through college, so it was a necessity. When I started my professional career outside of sports in New York, I made it a point to get to the gym several times a week to keep myself in shape. I was able to keep weight off and maintain a bit of muscle, which I thought was pretty good. Then I met my Modern Might coach. I’ve never met a trainer who was able to identify the areas my body needed to improve upon more quickly or accurately than she can. With the goal of increasing muscle while also reducing fat, and only 2-3 sessions per week, she made me stronger and leaner in 3 months than I had ever been in my life (I got a lot of compliments…). And it’s not just her ability in the gym – she is an expert in nutrition, which combined with her workouts is really what makes it all come together. I’ve been working with her for over two years now and I couldn’t imagine life without her. She has fixed imbalances between my muscle groups, helped with my posture, built my muscle beyond where I ever thought it could go, shown me how to maintain 13% body fat, helped me get through tweaks from golfing, and many other things I’m sure I am forgetting. Not to mention – she is an absolute pleasure to work with!! High energy and witty…just a really fun person to be around. Thank you Modern Might!!!”

I have been walking into gyms for several years and have had the opportunity to work with several trainers. Some good, some not so good, and some great! As the years went by my goal was always to tone my body and gain muscle mass by pumping iron, popping a few over the counter pills, and increasing my daily in take. I did see some changes that I was happy with when I looked in the mirror but I also encounter days of muscle and joint discomfort. Just when I thought I had learned enough to continue my daily workouts, my team at Modern Might introduced me to a new program that changed the way I look at weight training. Getting my body to look great has become as important to making my body “feel even greater”. After the team focused on coaching me on how to understand my body and the movement of certain key muscles, my workouts have become more intense with better results and less discomfort. It is not easy to focus on movement and posture on every repetition each time you workout… but it is definitely possible. I travel constantly and I am not able to have someone present with me at all times; therefore the online coaching has filled that void during my travel days. I can almost hear the voices of the Team reminding me to focus on certain muscle parts, poster, and movement. The guided program is outlined and designed specifically for me based on my progress. For a second I thought I was starting from zero…. But I was wrong, I am now using the strength I have built to push the right muscle groups that help increase my overall results. The team has set a great daily guided routine for me based on my progress. I now focus on the movement of my body- which muscles and joints do what. Most important I am learning how capable my body is to perform from the inside out without the repercussions I suffered in the past.

My Modern Might coach is the most thoughtful trainer I have ever had. When we first began I was extremely injured and could not do much. He focused on form and we built upon that foundation slowly. After 9 months of training with him I have never felt more motivated or stronger. I went from holding a 20 lb. weight while squatting to deadlifting 135 pounds! Besides his knowledge of the body he has also been extremely caring of my overall well-being and nutrition. I look forward to training with him and get pumped to see what he has planned for the day!
